Welcome to the 2008 Hooch
Thank you for making the 2007 ‘Hooch’ a success!
In 2007 it was evident that the riverfront in downtown Chattanooga easily supports one of the largest groups of athletes at a rowing event in the US, as well as thousands of spectators. Regatta entries were up to 1,330 boats, 6% over 2006, a ringing endorsement of the venue and the convenience of the City of Chattanooga, making the Hooch the second largest regatta in the US. The Atlanta Rowing Club and the Lookout Rowing Club thank the City of Chattanooga, UnumProvident and Outdoor Chattanooga for their tremendous support and commitment to the 2007 Hooch. We also thank everyone who helped to make
this regatta a success. It would not have been possible but for the tireless dedication of hundreds of volunteers, the US Rowing Referees, the Chattanooga community, our sponsors and advertisers. Thanks also to our vendors who did a great job keeping us fed and offering an endless supply of rowing apparel and cutting edge rowing equipment. Special thanks go to our supporters at the Chattanooga Parks and Recreation Department and Outdoor Chattanooga, who were responsible for the improved access to the Tennessee River and for taming the current.
Please take a look at the New for 2008 page for venue improvements, additional events and information on our new redundant timing system. The HOC’s goal is to improve participants' and spectators' experiences each year, and this year is no exception.
